Reader Report 7: Three Stories About Women

The main characters in the stories by Doctorow, Oates, and Munroe are women. The stories are also told from a restricted third-person point of view which gives us insight into only these women’s thoughts and not those of the other characters. Discuss why these three authors chose to work with women characters. Why write about a woman video gamer, women holocaust survivors, and a woman TV reporter? Does gender matter in these stories?

Format:

• You must write a minimum of two fully-developed paragraphs and 400 words and a maximum of four fully-developed paragraphs and 1000 words.
