I will seek to fulfill this mission in the following roles:

Individual-I will live according to the principles set forth in the Bible for a Godly man as expressed in the Boy Scout Oath and Promise. Most importantly I will keep myself "Physically strong, mentally awake and morally straight".

Husband-My wife is God's chosen partner to every aspect of my life and I will share all aspects of my life with her. I will seek to honor her and lift her to God in all of my interactions with her. My time with her will be characterized with love, kindness, gentleness, peace and patience.

Teacher-I will seek to train all minds to learn from every part of their lives. I will be fair and develop in each individual the particular talents, gifts and strengths possessed. I will teach the principles of principle-centered living to my students as a part of each subject. I will teach the value of science and rational thinking in this present world. I will work to overcome societal barriers for those who are underrepresented in the sciences such as women and minorities.  I will teach people to believe in their futures and to have hope.  I will build structures into my courses that encourage personal responsibility and development in my students.  My courses will model the "real" world in how they are structured and conducted.

Scientist/Astronomer- I will seek to add to the knowledge of human kind in an ethical fashion. I will work to shine the light of rationality into the darkness of ignorance and lift humanity from superstition and prejudice. I will endeavor to better understand the history and nature of the scientific pursuit of knowledge.  As an astronomer, I will provide programs that delight and inform the public. I will promote the innate fascination with and thirst for learning astronomy.

Minister-I will develop and maintain a strong, Bible-centered ministry serving those in college. My ministry will be financially accountable and ethically pure. I will seek to promote the love of God through His unique Son, Jesus Christ, whose gospel the ministry will spread. My ministry will lift up the weak, encourage the timid and comfort the forsaken. My ministry will provide an alternative set of choices for college students to those offered by the secular world, encourage them to follow them and hold them accountable for their choices. Yet, in my ministry I will forgive those who stumble and fall short, as we all do.

Son, Brother and Friend-I will honor my father and mother. I will treat them with respect and kindness. I will work to deepen our relationship and bring to it a greater maturity. I will be strong friend to my brother. I will respect, honor and cherish who he is and I will stand with him in all the times of his life. I will show my feelings for him in many ways. I will be a loving, generous and kind friend. I will be trustworthy and loyal to my friends and seek to build deeper and stronger relationships with them. I will serve my friends in helping them reach their goals and priorities.

Leader and Innovator-I will look for ways to assume leadership where my talents, skills and gifts allow. I will set an example of principled, proactive living. I will look to the future and prudently and positively evaluate those courses of action open to me and those organizations with which I am affiliated and pursue them in a win/win fashion. I will endeavor to think outside the box. I will seek resolution of conflict by looking for the third alternative and in honest evaluation. I will look beyond my comfort zone and examine the merits of new ideas against the framework of my principles. I will not do something just because that is how it has always been done.
