Principles of Physics II

Instructor Ramblings

Date:  1/07/01  Welcome back to the Principles of Physics.  If the first semester could be thought of as an investigation of Newton's Laws of Motion and their consequences (i.e.-Conservation of Energy and Momentum), this semester could be called "Interactions as Forces".  What we will do this semester is look at the properties of matter and from these determine how these properties cause interactions between matter that we sometimes call forces.  The first of these interactions we will examine is gravitation.  We will finally begin to unravel what this is and in doing so, develop tools that will serve us well over the entire semester.
